About Me

Hi and welcome!
I’m Natalia, an artist from Ukraine.
I moved to New York in August 2023 because of the war in my country and had to start my life from scratch.
My background is mixed: I worked as a graphic designer for some time, but my degree is in garment technology. Later, I created my own clothing brand and ran it for several years.
I hadn’t drawn for 8 years before moving to New York. And after finishing art school as a teenager, I drew only very rarely.
I started drawing again almost one year after arriving in NYC.
Now I draw the city as I experience it: through everyday moments, emotions, and contrasts. It can feel peaceful one minute and completely overwhelming the next.
When I first moved here, I worked in a restaurant and often had very little energy left for art.
About a year ago, I decided to take a risk and leave my job to focus on drawing full-time.
Since then, I’ve spent hours sketching on the streets, taking part in art markets, meeting people from all over the world, and sharing my work face-to-face. Along the way, I’ve gained valuable experience, built connections, and seen my drawings find homes with people who truly connect with them.
The last year has taught me a lot, both as an artist and as a person. There is still a long way to go, but I’m grateful for everyone who follows my work, supports what I do, and becomes part of this journey.
I keep showing up, keep drawing, and keep moving forward.
